Love Me Tinder
(le titre en référence à la chanson d’Elvis Presley et au site de rencontre Tinder)

Glissant dans l’informel, instantanément gratifiant dans la culture des rencontres virtuelles,
les rituels de la séduction disparaissent. Vient alors un besoin constant de validation, lequel
bouscule les lois de l’attraction, nous laissant languir d’un amour dans un sens très different.
Le mot lui même change et devient autre chose que l’on ne peut plus définir comme un amour
véritable, mais peut-être simplement comme une fausse connexion.
Cette exposition de groupe repose sur ce désir de sentir un instant de cette gratification instantanée.

Love Me Tinder
Through slipping into the informal, instantly gratifying nature of hookup culture, we are doing
away with the ritual aspects of courtship. With this comes a constant need for validation, for
which the laws of attraction shift, leaving us craving love in a very different sense. The term shifts
and mutates into something that we can no longer categorize as real love, but perhaps merely
a false connection.
Craving a sense of this instant gratification brings forth the group exhibition of Tino Chiang, Liza
Deviataikina, Alia Gheita, Cherry Lazar, Timothy Schweizer, Laurence Sturla and Julia Wiese at
La Galerie du Crous de Paris, May 2016.
