I have seen one case where the DI college coach had already expressed interest in one of my son’s teammates through their club coach, and this player’s performance at their fall “prospect camp” put him at the top of their list and he is now being actively recruited. After watching one of these one day prospect camps myself, it would be my opinion that (at least at the DI level) you really need to already be on the coaches’ radar to get a focused evaluation at their camp. I’m sure there are times where a player will stand out in a consistent, significant way at the camp to peak their interest, so you never know unless you give it a shot, but be realistic in your hopes.
